December - February : Winter months / early spring is top travel times when weather averages our in the low 80s.
March - May : Spring is a great time to visit Cancun. Weather averages still offer lower humidity, and good prices on travel and lodging. April weather can be humid but still with little rain and overall temperatures averages in the 80s. May is when the whale sharks usually arrive and the sea turtles are nesting. Visiting Cancun in May is the best time of year to have a one-of-a-kind adventure. The weather is almost ideal, and this is the best time of year to see wildlife.
June - August : A trip to Cancun in July is ideal for nature enthusiasts because that's when hatchling sea turtles begin their oceanic journeys. July tends to have some cloudy days, but overall expert Cancun travelers note that the sunny summer months are a great time to soak up the sunshine. In August there is a higher chance of rain than other times of year. Come prepared for the weather and pack a light rain jacket alongside your swimming suit. The benefit is that beaches, sightseeing attractions, and bars are less crowded.
September - November : Temperatures typically range from the mid-70s to the high 80s. September is the wettest month of the year, but if you want to visit Cancun without the crowds, this is the best time to take advantage of good deals on hotels and tours because prices drop significantly.
Hurricane season in Cancun technically begins in June and ends at the end of November, with most hurricanes occurring between August and October. Weather in Cancun in November starts to mellow out. In fact, some bloggers mention that one of the best kept secrets about Cancun travel is that November is the best month to visit.
